Astoria/Long Island City

At the risk of this looking as if we are doing a tour of bridges only..... this was one of the more impressive sights of today..... with the eventual goal of the Bohemian Beer Garden in mind, we set out for Astoria.... We found the Museum of the Moving Image as the top ranked location in that area... found it.... but not open on Mondays.... our mistake..... salvaged the afternoon with a walk to the Astoria Park right next to the East River with Manhattan across the water....

After our visit to the park, we took our time walking through the neighborhood... quite nice.. many had backyards and gardens..... we couldn't help but notice in one little area we actually saw 23rd Terrace, 23rd Street, 23rd Avenue, 23rd Drive, and 23rd Road... bet that leads to some interesting trips with GPS.....

This was the REASON we headed here.... John had read an article about the Beer Garden... it did not disappoint..... As an extra, they were playing the U.S. Open Men's final on 3 huge TV's.....

One extra little feature... the other night for the wedding was our first experience using LYFT as a replacement for a taxi... we were quite pleased..... as we entered the Beer Garden they were just concluding a private party for their drivers.....
